Cindi -
I think my children as well, had to also accept that "mom" was on Facebook, too. Many seem to think that Facebook is only for the younger generation. Nothing could be further from the truth. As you brought out, Facebook is also a very professional venue for promoting business and making contacts. That's pretty big grown-up stuff I would say!

I also love that you consider Facebook "continuing education". So do I. Facebook is in my opinion, the best online avenue for grandparents and boomers to keep up with technology, and stay connected to those they care about.

Thank you for commenting.

My grown daughters are absolutely amazed that their Mom is on Facebook! It's a wonderful venue for promoting ecommerce businesses, as well as providing on opportunity to join many wonderful groups with like-minded individuals who share similar interests. As a Baby Boomer I consider Facebook to be a source of continuing education.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge with so many!

Thank you Heather :-) How exciting to be featured on LDS Media Talk! I love being an LDS GrandParent, and I love using Facebook to connect with my children, grandchildren, family and friends. It is a wonderful tool, and so easy for especially "grandparents" to learn to how to use it. I look forward to making other tutorials for helping grandparents on Facebook.

Shirley -

I'm really glad if this has helped encourage you to sign-up for Facebook and join your family in all the fun of connecting online. Really, it is so much fun to stay up-to-date with everyone, especially your own children and grandchildren.

Thanks for stopping by. :-)

I'm not on Facebook but I think that I'm the only one in my family who isn't! My children, siblings, neices, nephews and grandson are all on there and use it to keep up with each other. I think this mom/grandma/aunt/sister needs to get with the times.

Thanks for taking some of the mystery out of joining and pointing out the best reasons for it.

Grandpa Shayne -

Like yourself, my grandchildren are young, and so I utilize their parent's Facebook profiles to send communications to them.

However, I have recently convinced my own mother, my children's grandmother to join Facebook. It is so enjoyable to see how she is now able to keep up with their busy lives, as well as her great-grandchildren... my grandchildren.

As I stated, it is my opinion that Facebook is the absolute best way online, to stay connected to our families. :-)

Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I think it's wonderful for Grandparents to connect on Facebook — with their families, children, and any grandchildren that are there. My grandkids are too young still (oldest is 7), but my children are on Facebook, as well as their spouses. Of course I am "friends" with them all on Facebook. I have also found and become friends with several other grands on FB, including Becky and her father! Thanks for the great tutorial.

Becky -

How wonderful, and what an inspiration both you, and the "Great-Grandpa" are - to all the rest of the grandparents out there; who might feel somewhat intimidated to join Facebook!

I think that one of the most important parts of learning new technology, especially for grandparents, is to be patient and know that with a little bit of time and effort - they can do it. :-)

Thank you, for such a vote of confidence for all grandparents!
